It is our commitment as a body to continue believing God for the full blessings of: Jeremiah 32: 38-41 & 33:8-9.
And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their own good and the good of their children after them. I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me. I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul. I will cleanse them from all the guilt of their sin against me, and I will forgive all the guilt of their sin and rebellion against me. And this city shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and a glory before all the nations of the earth who shall hear of all the good that I do for them. They shall fear and tremble because of all the good and all the prosperity I provide for it.
We will be a people committed to living by faith We will demonstrate Biblical faith (2 Corinthians 5:7) as we patiently wait upon the Lord (Isaiah 40:31 & Psalm 37:34) with a heart of praise. Our faith is an informed response to divine revelation (I Corinthians 2:9-12), and this revelation allows us to remain faithful to our mission.
We will be a people committed to living with a compelling love By this “compelling love” we will not give in to a “spirit of fear” (2 Timothy 1:7, I John 4:18) and will continue to break down the “dividing walls of hostility” (Ephesians 2:14). Christ’s compelling love will continue to shape and inform our responses to current social events (Colossians 3:1-16, 2 Corinthians 5:14-17).
We will be a people committed to having Biblical relationships By understanding that the Bible stands above culture and teaches us how to live with each other (2 Timothy 3:16-17), we will embrace all peoples as we submit to God and each other (Ephesians 5:21) with humility for the sake of the kingdom of Christ on earth. We will maintain proper and healthy community relationships as God’s Word directs (Matthew 5:13-16, I Peter 3:15-16).
We will be a people committed to the unity of the body
