We Activate
We Expect
We Celebrate
Activate: Our Faith is activated as we take ownership of our choice to believe in Jesus and as we walk in obedience to Him as Lord alongside other believers, encouraging each other’s faith, learning how God speaks to us thru His word and from others, inspired and energized by the Holy Spirit. This will lead us to love God and others and to build up the Body of Christ as we affirm and exercise our God given gifts.
(Eph. 4:11-16, 1 Thess. 5:11, Prov. 27:17, & Jh. 15:4-5)
We Expect: Based on the teaching of Jesus, the promises God has given us in His Word, and the testimony of all the saints, we expect that God will conform us to Jesus. We expect for God to speak and to guide us by His Word, the Holy Spirit, and each other. We expect that Jesus will build His Kingdom thru us and the gates of hell will not prevail. We expect to do more than we can ask or imagine. We expect for the empowerment and filling of the Holy Spirit. We expect for God to reveal more of who He is to us, even as we wrestle with the reality that in this world we will have trouble, we will always expect more. We will do this by reminding ourselves that however our God meets us, we will be satisfied.
(Lk. 11:11-13, Eph. 1:15-23, 2 Cor. 3:18, Eph. 3:14-21, Act 1:4-8 & 1 Jh. 3:2-3)
We Celebrate: God commanded festivals and celebrations for His people Israel, and we believe that today our God still calls us to celebrate, to rejoice, and to give thanks. As we activate our faith and gifts, and we expect for more, we will see our God move and we will celebrate each moment. It is not about how big or small, it is simply about recognizing that it is all thanks to Him. We will celebrate when people are reconciled back to God, when believers grow and mature in their faith, when believers persevere in their faith amid trails and testing, when believers activate their gifts, and when God’s Kingdom is expanded in Birmingham, Alabama, the United States, and the world.
(Rom. 12:15, Heb. 13:15, Ps. 116:17, 1 Thess. 5:16-18, Jm. 1:12, Acts 14:22, Phil. 4:8, Ps. 103, & Lk. 15)
Our God has blessed us with a large and spacious building that is used by three other churches
