Relationships

“The fellowship of the church is part of God’s good news to men. It imparts to the gospel one of the most thrilling notes – that when Christ saves a man he not only saves him from his sin, he saves him from his solitude.”              Frank Colquhoun

In today’s society it is possible to live life surrounded by people and yet be lonely. At Birmingham International Church we believe that God did not create us to be alone or suffer from loneliness – instead God has made us for meaningful relationships. We value and emphasize the need for each other across generations and cultures. The fellowship of god’s people is an important way in which God works in our lives and grows us as Christians.

We encourage people to be together in church, in their homes and socially. Here we can laugh together, cry together, pray together and grow together. Children are an integral aspect of church life and are with us during these “fellowship” times.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage another – and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”           Hebrews 10:24-25
